TRAVEL REPORT
From Jean Laikin
REPORT ON BOAT TRIP TO TABARCA - June 21st 2007
It was a happy crowd who set off for the only inhabited island in the Valencia region last week -Tabarca - reached after an hour’s sailing from Alicante. It was an uneventful trip once the Kon Tiki boat stand was found and members either enjoyed a swim in the clear waters surrounding the island or explored the town and the island. It is an easy walk around the island.

There were traumas. One person missed the return boat as she was looking for her prescription glasses lost on the beach and never found and another –Jean Laikin the leader – fell a victim to the choppy seas and sent blood all over the deck from a cut on her leg. The Dr looking at it later gave the non comforting words “It will take a long time”.

Unfortunately the booked lunch did not come up to expectations and a vote on the coach afterwards showed it would be preferable for every one to make their own arrangements in places where there was ample choice of restaurants or bars.
