It’s nearly “that time of year” again! Your Membership is due for renewal in April. As in previous years the process is made as simple as possible for everyone. Members who are renewing their membership will simply need to put their €12 in an envelope (which is supplied), with their name, membership no. and e-mail address. This can then be dropped in the box which will be on the Membership desk. Please note that NO CHANGE will be available so please ensure that you have the EXACT money. New cards will be issued at the following meeting.
Any “new” members must fill in an application form and bring this to the desk for processing. No cheques will be accepted.
Only members with a current membership card will be able to enjoy the benefits which the u3a have to offer, ie. Eligibility to attend any of the many groups on offer, to qualify for any subsidised meals, or travel; to enjoy any of the many trips and holidays that are planned, and to take advantage of discounts which some companies offer to members. There is accessibility of information through the website, nine monthly meetings a year and Newsletters. All this for only €12 per year!
It has now become a tradition of the U3A to hold a picnic in the summer in place of the July General Meeting. This will be on Thursday 10th July at 5pm to avoid some of the summer heat, and will be at the picnic ground on Mt. Olta. Calpe. Members can take their own picnics and drinks and enjoy the rest of the time with some singing and dancing - hopefully. This has always proved to be a very popular event, so come along and join in the fun.
Although this seems a long way off, we want everyone to start thinking about nominations for committee positions during the summer recess. All positions are open to nominations and it would be good to think that people will come forward for the committee to instil some new ideas. There is a nomination form on the website which can be filled in. Nomination Form Remember to get permission from the person that you are nominating - we don't want any big surprises!!
The Annual General Meeting will be on 13th November 2008 and we hope to have a lot of interest in this.
