U3A is an abbreviation of ‘University of the Third Age.’ The Calpe U3A was the first U3A established in Spain.

What is the purpose of the U3A?
To encourage and enable people who are no longer in full-time employment to share their knowledge, skills, interests and experiences.
Do I need formal qualifications?
The U3A is open to anyone in the community. No qualifications are necessary, nor are any awarded.
Do the U3A have paid teachers?

Membership: the benefits

If you are no longer in full-time employment, then you have arrived at the “Third Age.” If you want to live this period of your life to the full, then the University of the Third Age is for you!
