SUMMER PICNIC - JULY 10th 2008
For the members who manoeuvred the diversion up to the Olta Picnic Ground above Calpe Station, an enjoyable time was ahead of them.
As has become a tradition of the u3a Calpe, instead of a meeting in July everyone is invited to bring along their own food and drink to socialise with other members and enjoy the fun. Everyone met on July 10th at 5pm to avoid the head of the midday sun, but it was still extremely warm.

Once the picnics had been cleared away, Mary Anderton, invited everyone to join in with a few games. Some Spanish and Belgium people who were there to enjoy their own “quiet” picnic, found themselves participating in the activities… and thoroughly enjoying themselves. They wanted to know when our next picnic was going to be. (Not sure if that was because they wanted to avoid that date or not!!).

After, Mary organised people into enjoying some dancing and then some communal singing, before ending the afternoon with Aulde Lang Syne, which sounded strange emanating from a picnic ground on a hot July evening.

For those that wanted to stay a bit longer, they were able to play cricket, before the descent down the mountain to Calpe.
