REPORT ON CHRISTMAS IN GUARDAMAR. 23rd - 27th December 2004
Christmas at Guardamar was wonderful this year. More than half those present were members of the u3a Calpe and several were present for the first time.. From the first moment when every one gathered for the Welcome Party on Thursday, Dec 23rd until the last breakfast on Monday, December 27th the Hotel was full of happy voices.
The homemade concert on Christmas Eve, M.C.'d by Joan Bryan was especially memorable.Christmas Day had every one eating hot mince pies, drinking hot mulled wine and singing carols in the sunny courtyard of the Hotel. It turned colder the next day but most people were enjoying a coach ride to see the beautiful belén in San Javier and the Mar Menor and La Manga. Back to more food and wine......and more food and wine. Our Spanish hosts made sure every one had plenty. A family owned Hotel is always so much better (for Christmas) than a managed one
