TRAVEL REPORT

Report on Trip to Delso Museum - Tuesday, 17th June 2008
It was only a small party that set off for the Delso Museum on the morning of June 17th but an enthusiastic group. The enthusiasm was needed when after an interesting diversion to the wrong area of Alfaz del Pi we found we had to walk uphil to the Museum - cars blocked the road. But it was worth it. Sigue, Delso's widow was there to welcome us and explain about the museum and its really interesting exhibits displayed on the hillside garden and in the house as well as the new artists workshop where pictures are painted on candles with hot wax. As the candle burns down the picture becomes more vibrant!
Then it was off to Polop to see the 200 or so fountains but no time to visit the castle (this was planned for after lunch) but again en route to the restaurant in Xirles we found ourselves walking down and up a hill. No access for the coach. And after THAT lunch no-one wanted to climb more steep hills that day. That trip was left for another occasion.
