REPORT ON TRIP TO BODEGA - Sunday 2nd October 2005
Rod and Mary were both charmed by the young lady representative of bodegas Pedro Moreno of Jaraguas, near Requena, when they met at the Feria in Alicante in June. They liked the taste and the price of the wine on offer too, so what more natural than that they should arrange a visit to see how it all came about.
On Sunday a full coach set off early from Calpe - but it was a long journey - and every one was ready for the tastings. So many people all could not be served at once so half went to the modern bodega while the other half quaffed their share. And then turn about. Rod, as President of the Costa Blanca Wine Club, earned his laurels, with his lecture on wine appreciation!! Did we benefit when the more generous wine tastings started at the luncheon table? Or did we just tuck in?
