We have had a disappointing month, as I have had to cancel the trip to Costa Brava/Carcassonne. We did not reach minimum numbers, and cancellation was a last resort. We have arranged to give members their refunds at the May meeting. There is a small glimmer of hope, however, in that we may combine with another U3A to do this trip at a future date, probably next year.
I have also cancelled the trip to Guadalest, and those few who want to go will go in cars on a different agreed date. See me after the meeting, or phone me afterwards.
We do not have any trips in June because many of the Travel team are away, but I will be preparing the autumn programme during the next few months. If you have any ideas for popular day/2 day trips please let me know.
Please note that day trips are payable when booking, and deposits for longer trip are also due when you book. Many people have said this is an improvement and how much easier this is for them now.
As travel information is now on our website a few days before the meeting members can ensure they have the funds available to pay when they book.
Balances and other monies are paid into the Barclays Bank Travel Account, ending 5263, stating trip name and number, and your name.

We will be exploring the many facets of the 15th Century Ducal Palace of the Borjas in Gandia. It is a truly beautiful building. It has a large number of architectural styles developed over seven centuries. From 1889 the Palace has been the property of the Jesuits, who took charge of its restoration and maintenance.
We will then have lunch, and have some free time. Price includes travel, Palace visit and lunch.

A very exciting trip. We will be in Spain’s premier wine producing region and all it has to offer. Firstly we will go to the wine museum which was inaugurated by the King of Spain, then having a splendid lunch in a winery. We will have opportunities for sampling wine in other bodegas in the area. We will also do a trip to Bilbao, visit the Guggenheim museum and explore that city, also visiting some outstanding places of interest in the area close to where we are staying in NAJERA, where we have half board at our hotel. THERE IS NO SINGLE SUPPLEMENT. The cost of ALL bodega visits and the winery lunch are included in the price. The price will reduce if we get sufficient numbers booking. More details to follow.
Deposit €100, in CASH, when booking at the meeting. At other times of booking the deposit payment should be paid into BARCAYS BANK travel account within three days.
